Welcome to the Sound/Unsound post-conference blog! A formal declaration of intent may be found under our about tab. In brief, however, we are a team of graduate students who find our worlds and work to be enriched by considerations of sound. We are interested in building an interdisciplinary online community for anyone interested in sound studies, and we hope to counteract those e'er-increasing accusations of academic isolationism with full-hearted collaborative interaction. Though we are aiming eventually for something more comprehensive, we invite you to take these first few steps with us by participating in our communal blog and sharing your thoughts and experiences as they occur to you to share.
If you saw a mind-blowing concert recently or fell in love with a poet at a reading, if you simply want to rave about your favorite new work of sound-related criticism, pose a nagging research question, or introduce yourself to a community of your peers—this blog is yours. To break the ice, we'll spend the next few posts telling you a bit about ourselves; we look forward to your replies.
